Community colleges are North Carolina’s workforce trainers. The Carolinas Gateway Partnership region is home to two nationally-recognized two-year institutions: Edgecombe Community College and Nash Community College

Through NCEdge, the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) connects companies in North Carolina with tailored training solutions to empower employers and strengthen their bottom lines.

Within NCCCS, there are 58 community colleges serving 100 counties with a college located within 30-minutes of every North Carolina resident.

Every community college across the state  has an NCEdge regional director who works alongside local companies and businesses to help them achieve their goals through customized training programs. The  collaborative partnerships between community colleges and companies help North Carolina industries thrive and grow while introducing North Carolinians to life-changing education and incredible value provided by community colleges.

Customized training is offered in three simple steps: 

  • Step 1: Engage and Envision
    • Companies connect with the regional director at Edgecombe Community College and/or Nash Community College to share their goals, aspirations, and workforce training gaps.
  • Step 2: Tailored Training Roadmap
    • The regional director coordinates with faculty and staff at the community colleges to create a training plan that leverages the college’s expertise and is efficient and cost-effective for the company.
  • Step 3: Seamless Execution
    • Once a plan is in place, the regional director manages the project’s logistics, bridging the gap between the college’s offerings and the company’s training needs.
